ATHENS AIRPORT

Since March 2001, Athens International Airport has been consistently offering high-level services, having earned the trust of airlines, passengers, partners, and stakeholders. During this entire period, the airport has welcomed more than 400 million passengers and over 4 million flights, continuing to create significant value for the national and local economy, while constantly seeking to enhance Athens’ connectivity as a sustainable year-round destination.

In 2024, Athens International Airport’s network offered air connections to 157 destinations in 55 countries, with more than 68 airlines. Passenger traffic reached 31.85 million, recording an increase of 13.1%, while in the first nine months of the year, the airport’s passenger traffic reached 26.19 million, above the 2024 levels by 6.7%.

At AIA, improving the passenger experience remains a constant pursuit, in areas ranging from the high quality of services to the aesthetic, functional, and operational upgrade of infrastructure and processes. In addition, the Airport Expansion Plan is being implemented, aiming to increase capacity and meet the needs arising as traffic grows.

With a recognized leadership role in environmental protection, through its programme “Route 2025”, AIA is completing the roadmap within the year towards achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions, a development that positions it as a pioneer both in the aviation sector and more broadly in the Greek business environment.

Winner of the annual ACI EUROPE Best Airport Award 2025, in the highly competitive 25–40 million passengers category, Athens International Airport has received many important awards, both from airlines and from international bodies and organizations in the aviation sector, for its network development strategy, quality of services, customer-centric approach, as well as for the overall spectrum of its activities.

AIA has been listed on the Athens Stock Exchange since February 2024.
