Great success for 1st Greek Tourism Expo 2014

Very good stats and positive feedback from the majority of exhibitors and visitors sealed the success of the International Exhibition Greek Tourism Expo which was held for the first time at the Metropolitan Expo from 5-7 December 2014.

The organizer Leaderexpo seeing the gap that existed in the absence of a professional tourism exhibition in Athens and by extension throughout the country dared and organized, the Greek Tourism Expo calling 80 tourist agencies from 25 countries in Greece as hosted buyers to meet with 162 exhibitors. From the invited hosted buyers came to the exhibition 74 which and through the electronic system preset appointments, exhibitors had planned 2072 B2B meetings with them. In a specially designed area for the B2B Meetings, held over 2600 appointment as the interest of hosted buyers for acquaintance with exhibitors were too big.

Under the motto “Come Meet the Greeks”, the 1st Tourism Expo brought together the sector’s professionals in efforts to promote the Greek tourist product.

Business visitors who came to the exhibition was 6,650 and in this number we must add a 2% which was public. These figures show clearly the professional nature of the exhibition since 45% were professionals from travel agencies and hotels, 38% were companies from the area of special forms of tourism, such as marine tourism and others, and 15% were from companies that are indirectly related to tourism such as marketing companies, e-tourism companies, restaurants etc.

“Our great success gives us the courage to continue our vision to establish a major international tourism exhibition in Athens,” said General Manager of Leaderexpo Mr. Christopher Papadiotis. “We received many positive comments from all participants and ideas that will evaluate to further maximize the business partnerships between exhibitors and invited buyers. This year we made a good start, but we have to do too much more so in 2015 the 2nd Tourism Fair GREEK TOURISM Expo longer show its true potential with more exhibitors and more Hosted Buyers. This need our tourism market and we must try together. ”

The exhibition was inaugurated by the General Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism Mr. Anastasios Liaskos and attended the opening ceremony: The President Mr. Chris Pallis and the GM Mr. Panos Leivadas of Greek National Tourism Organization, the President Mr. George Tsakiris and the member of Board Mrs. Christina Tetradis of Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, the GM of Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises Mr. Alexander Lamnidis, the President of the Acropolis Museum, Mr. Dimitris Pantermalis, etc.

With a large number of participants and significant speakers and topics were held parallel events Exhibition organized SETE, the Union Cruise Ship Owners and Shipping Agencies, while the 2nd Congress DIGI.TRAVEL for electronic tourism and Forum EYCLUB hosted in the report, noted also successfully bringing together a large number of speakers and participants.
